Staff Sgt. David W. Textor, 27, of Roanoke, died Tuesday in Mosul, Iraq, of injuries suffered from a vehicle accident, the Department of Defense announced today. He was the only soldier killed in the incident, which is under investigation.

He is survived by his wife, Colette, and five children: Caleb, McKenna, Ryan, Boden and Jadon. His mother and stepfather, Jennie and Kevin Lindberg, live in Roanoke. His father, Bill Textor, lives in Minnesota.

Textor was a Green Beret assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), based out of Fort Lewis.
