The remains of U.S. Army Spc. Byron Fouty are expected to arrive today in Michigan, with services for the slain soldier to be held Tuesday.
Spc. Byron Fouty, who would have turned 20 in April, disappeared May 12, 2007, when he and two other soldiers were captured after an Al Qaeda ambush outside Baghdad. The skeletal remains of Spc. Byron Fouty and Sgt. Alex Jimenez, 25, were found July 9 in the Iraqi village of Jurf as Sakhr. Visitation for Fouty will be 4-9 p.m. Monday at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 340 N. Pontiac Trail in Walled Lake. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brightmoor Christian Church, 40800 W. Thirteen Mile Road in Novi. A private funeral also will be held Friday in Texas, where his mother, Hilary Meunier, lives. Fouty will be buried at the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.|
