The remains of Cpl. James Arnal are en route home to Canada from Afghanistan while his Winnipeg family is headed to Canadian Forces Base Trenton to greet him and escort him back for a funeral that has not yet been set.
Lt. Jeff Noel of CFB Winnipeg said this morning that Arnal -- who died Friday night while on foot patrol in southern Afghanistan -- was honoured in a ramp ceremony in Kandahar yesterday and his flag-draped casket is being flown to Trenton in a C-130 Hercules airplane.
Another ceremony will be planned involving his family in Trenton and then a motorcade will take the 90-minute trip from Trenton to Toronto down the Highway of Heroes -- Highway 401.....
