Cpl. Andrew Grenon-Funeral set for Friday

A funeral with full military honours will take place Friday for Windsor's Cpl. Andrew Grenon, killed in Afghanistan with two comrades in an insurgent ambush west of Kandahar City last week.

An honour guard will accompany soldiers with the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry Battalion who fought alongside Grenon, 23, who was near the end of his second tour of duty when the deadly road attack occurred.

Visitations take place Thursday at Families First Funeral Home, 3260 Dougall Ave., with the public invited to view the casket and sign the book of condolences from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by the family receiving friends from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service is Friday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Atonement Church in Forest Glade with a private interment at Heavenly Rest to follow.
